Punjabi Play-By-Play

Canadian news network Omni TV has put together a really great behind the scenes report on what goes into broadcasting NHL games in Punjabi.

It's really fun to tune in and listen because at least when I watch french broadcasts I sort of know what they're saying due to the weak french lessons the Canadian educational system provided me throughout my childhood. But with these guys, it's good times because I have no idea what they're saying at all.

Though after the novelty of it all wears off, I usually just end up putting it on mute and making my own commentary. In reality that has more to do with me being in love with the sound of my own voice more than anything. I could listen to myself go on for hours, and hours, and hours. In fact even right now as I'm typing this I can hear myself reading out the words in my head. And let's just say it's glorious.

Before I get carried away, here's the news report from Omni TV on these punjabi play-by-play pioneers.
